In 1954, King became the minister of Dexter Avenue Baptist Church in Montgomery, Alabama. Later, he worked for the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People and the Alabama council for human relationships. King thought that the rules for the black were not fair and was able to urge black to boycott buses. No black man or woman used a bus for a year until the bus companies surrendered. Kings side had won even though his life was in danger. His house was bombed and was tried to be assassinated. King soon died in 1968 by a bullet shot from a rifle.
